My super delta male has been acting strange lately and I'm not really sure why. He is still active and eating, but he is also sinking to the bottom of the tank as if he can't float well anymore. He's in a 3 gallon by himself, with plants, filtration, etc. Water temp stays around 74 F. Anyone have any idea what's wrong with him? I really don't want him to die!

Which fish do you own?:
Bettas - Splendens, Picta; Central American Cichlids, Goldfish, Clown Loaches, Angel Fish Favorite: Bettas

How old is he? As you know bettas do not live for long...how many water changes do you carry out? Any visible signs of a disease?

As for temperature, the ideal should be around 28 - 29 and must remain constant...no changes as otherwise it will get sick and might die...

I have not had him long. A couple months at most, he is not very large bodywise and I don't think he's that old. He is doing much better than when I posted, he was developing ich which I successfully treated although I'm still a little worried. He is still eating very well, and is more active, but he still seems skinny and perhaps not quite as active as he could be. I do water changes whenever the water gets dirty...at the very least once a week if not less than that.
